Recent years, this is the speech I give at the beginning of each semester.
Don’t worry too much about AI taking over every job.
We’re still in the early days. Many people, companies, even governments are trying to figure out what to do with it, how to use it, and how to manage it. Yes, it’s a bit messy right now. But just like every tech shift in history, this too will find its balance.
You might see AI writing code, creating apps with voice commands, generating commercials, reading the news, writing lyrics, even singing or doing customer service. It’s impressive. It’s disruptive. But here’s something to remember:
Anything original always holds more value.
Think about it, why do we still celebrate hand-drawn art, handcrafted items, organic food? It’s not just about nostalgia. It’s because there’s something irreplaceably human in them. Something AI can’t replicate.
Now, imagine a company replacing all entry-level employees with AI. Great. But then, do they still need as many mid-level managers? Probably not. And if mid-levels shrink, how many Directors or VPs will actually have teams left to lead? If the pyramid thins out, even HR departments, operations, tools everything scales down.
At the end of that chain, you’re left with a CEO and a handful of people managing armies of machines.
Sounds efficient. But it also sounds… hollow.
Human ego is bigger than AI.
And human networking is deeper than automation.
So, don’t be passive.
Don’t fall behind. Every company / team has lots of Tribal knowledge that AI doesn’t posses.
Use AI. Learn with it. Play with it. Grow because of it.
But don’t fear the future.
You are not being replaced. You are being challenged to evolve.
And you will.
Lets start.
